When the time comes and you are called by God to achieve success, there will be others out there that will try to tear you down. Opponents and even teammates may become jealous of you and your abilities. Below you will find verses that will help you to avoid the temptation of fighting, arguing, or striking back at them. Those verses in red are words spoken directly from Christ Jesus.
“Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak evil against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ. Remember, it is better to suffer for doing good, if that is what God wants, than to suffer for doing wrong!”
1 Peter 3:16-17
“God blesses those who are persecuted because they live for God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. God blesses you when you are mocked and persecuted and lied about because you are my followers. Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven.”
Mathew 5:10-12
“But I say, love your enemies (bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you)! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives His sunlight to both the evil and the good, and He sends rain on the just and the unjust, too.”
Mathew 5:44-45
“Dear brothers and sisters, whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for joy. For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything.”
James 1:2-4
“When the world hates you, remember it hated me before it hated you. The world would love you if you belonged to it, but you don’t. I chose you to come out of the world, and so it hates you.”
John 15:18-19
“The people of the world will hate you because you belong to me, for they don’t know God who sent me.”
John 15:21
