Confidence & Performance:
No one ever said being an athlete was easy. Being a Christian athlete can often be harder. As an athlete, you will face many challenges through sport. You will face times of great opposition and intimidation. You will encounter fear and worry. However, being a Christian athlete, you can place your trust and confidence in God while participating in sports and throughout your life. Below are some verses that will help you through times when your confidence lacks, and are fearful of what lies ahead.
“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you with my victorious hand.”
Isaiah 41:10
“I am holding you by your right hand – I, the LORD your God. And I say to you, ‘Do not be afraid. I am here to help you.’”
Isaiah 41:13
“That is why we can say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper, so I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?’”
Hebrews 13:6
“Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares what happens to you.”
1 Peter 5:7
